Why we cook the way we do
Fuel is a small, independent recipe magazine about the meals that carry us through ordinary days.
We started Fuel Healthy Recipes because the most useful recipes in our own kitchens were never the showstoppers. They were the bowl of oats that held up until lunch, the soup that fed us for three nights, and the snack we could grab on the way out the door.
What "fuel" means to us
For us, fuel is simply good food that fits real life: balanced plates with vegetables, whole grains and a protein, cooked from ingredients you can find at an ordinary grocery store. It is not a diet, a program or a set of rules. We do not promise any health or weight results, and we will never publish before-and-after photos.
How the site is organized
- The Kitchen holds every recipe, organized by time of day: morning, midday, evening, and snacks and sweets.
- Fuel Notes are short practical guides, such as how to cook whole grains or stock an everyday pantry.
How we write recipes
Every recipe is written for this site and cooked in a home kitchen. We include realistic times, clear steps, safe cooking temperatures for meat, fish and eggs, and notes on storing and reheating leftovers. You can read the details in our editorial standards.
About our pictures
Many of our recipe photos are generously licensed by photographers on Wikimedia Commons and are credited under each image and in photo-credits.txt. They show a similar dish, so styling may differ from our version. Where we could not find a suitable photo, we use an illustrated card instead.
How Fuel is funded
Fuel Healthy Recipes is free to read and shows no ads. We pay to promote the site with Google Ads campaigns, so you may have found us through a sponsored result. Paying for promotion has no influence on which recipes we publish or what we write.
